Games Development Level 3 (2022 - 2024)
In 2022, I began a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Development at Cheshire College South & West. Over the two-year course, I gained hands-on experience in 3D modelling, game design, and digital production workflows. Early on, I was introduced to industry-standard tools including Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine 5, and Unity, learning the foundational skills required to build and present interactive environments. One of my first major projects involved designing a micro machines-style game with a custom theme. I chose a Star Wars-inspired RPG environment, which allowed me to explore creative world-building while applying technical modelling techniques. Throughout the course, I documented my progress and submitted evidence using Padlet, showcasing both my development process and final outcomes. As a newcomer to Maya and game engines, much of my first year focused on mastering the basics—experimenting with different modelling tools, creating assets, and understanding how to integrate them into game environments. These projects helped me build confidence and technical fluency, culminating in a final grade of Distinction*.This page includes selected work from both Year 1 and Year 2, highlighting my growth, creativity, and technical achievements throughout the diploma.
Year 1 (First Year)

Year 2 (Second Year)
Year 1 Modelling Progress – Games Development Level 3
This PDF showcases my journey through the first year of my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Development. Exported directly from my college Padlet, it documents the progression of my 3D modelling skills—from complete beginner to confidently working with industry-standard tools like Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine 5, and Unity.
The first project focused on learning the fundamentals of modelling, and you’ll see how my understanding and technique evolved across each assignment. Early work reflects my initial learning curve, while later projects demonstrate clear growth in both creativity and technical ability.
Year 2 Project Showcase – Games Development Level 3
In the second year of my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Development, I deepened my understanding of industry-standard tools and workflows, with a strong focus on Unreal Engine 5. I learned how to set up immersive scenes, apply modular building techniques, and implement effective modelling practices to create a cohesive RPG-style game environment.
We also explored Game Design Documents (GDDs)—understanding their purpose and structure—and developed our own GDDs to support the planning and execution of our projects. This helped refine my ability to think critically about gameplay mechanics, narrative design, and user experience.
Toward the end of the year, we shifted focus to character design and development, where I created original concept art and modelled my own characters. This phase allowed me to apply both creative and technical skills, bringing my ideas to life in 3D form.
This is a PDF shows the research and careers side of things I did to look at and understand about carers within games development and also showcase a couple of extra game asset and concept art work to go along side it as well
and building a mini Padlet style portfolio for this careers research.
